As Assistant Trust Officer, Kate’s primary duties are to support our three trust officers in their day-to-day administration. She is quick to jump on tasks supporting the team as needs arise. As if that doesn’t keep her busy enough, she is also working on her CTFA designation and hopes to be a Trust Officer in the near future.
Kate’s administrative career began in her family’s fourth-generation Iowa law firm, where she worked during college breaks. Her music degree from the College of Saint Benedict & Saint John’s University in Minnesota led her to graduate studies in music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A part time position at the medical school led to full time work supporting the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics.
After moving to Portland in 1998 to work for a local microphone manufacturer, Kate later joined the gift planning team at OHSU & Doernbecher Foundations. During her 16 years there, she was reintroduced to trust and estate administration, and became adept at property gift management and outreach activities.
In her off hours, Kate enjoys putting her music degree to good use singing and playing bass, currently with her alt-country band, Jawbone Flats.
